Colombian President Iván Duque responded to Nicolás Maduro on Thursday, who announced that he will deploy an anti-aircraft “for defense” missile system at the border, considering that the Government of the neighboring nation intends to generate an “armed conflict” in the area .
«We don’t fall into provocations in front of Maduro’s ads. Don’t let us go out now with bravado to take missiles to the border. Instead, he should invest those resources in protecting his people and providing him with food, ”Duque said in a video posted on his Twitter account.
The Colombian president added that his country “does not attack anyone” and said that his nation “respects the territoriality” of other countries.
“But you have to talk about things as they are, Nicolás Maduro is protecting Colombian terrorists and all ELN leaders in his territory. In addition, it has the FARC dissidents, ”he said.
The Colombian president said that “they will continue denouncing their abuses (of the Venezuelan regime) internationally.”
“We will seek the support of the entire international community to confront these terrorists,” Duque said while thanking the collaboration of the president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, in his help to eradicate guerrilla groups in both nations.
