This Friday, the president in charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, thanked economist Ricardo Hausmann for his performance as a representative of Venezuela to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
«Grateful, on behalf of all Venezuelans, with Ricardo Hausmann, for his performance and commitment to rebuild our country. We know that Venezuela will continue to have its experience and professionalism, ”Guaidó said through his Twitter account (@jguaido).
This Thursday, Hausmann announced his resignation as a Guaidó representative, because he would be in conflict with his responsibilities at Harvard, where he teaches and directs the School’s Growth Laboratory.
Speaking on the phone, Hausmann said he is «there to support» Guaidó «in all he can», in a less formal capacity.
Alejandro Plaz and an IDB spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The bank based in Washington, USA still shows Hausmann as a representative of Venezuela on its website.
