Luis Florido, deputy of the National Assembly that is currently in exile, said Thursday that the United Nations recognized that the regime of Nicolás Maduro «commits crimes against humanity that must be investigated and prosecuted.» Florido explained that a mission that investigates cases such as extrajudicial executions, forced disappearances, arbitrary detentions and torture must be established. The deputy also demanded that mission officials «have full access» to all areas. In addition, they have a headquarters in Venezuela. Florido, with concern, recalled that more than four million Venezuelans have had to emigrate due to the serious crisis in the country, detailing that seven million «are in a state of vulnerability.» This is a fundamental step to achieve justice and reparation for victims of human rights violations in the country.
