H.E. Mr. Iván Duque Márquez, President, Republic of Colombia, will brief reporters at the General Assembly Stakeout area.

David Smolansky, Venezuelan coordinator before the Organization of American States (OAS), informed that Iván Duque, president of Colombia, will sign a decree to give an adequate immigration status to Venezuelans without papers that have a job proposal.

Smolansky, in an interview with Tv Venezuela Noticias, said that «if a Venezuelan does not have documentation, but does have a work proposal, he will have a valid work permit for two years.»

This resolution would seek to mitigate the Venezuelan crisis, which has extended to Colombia, where approximately two million Venezuelans have escaped from the crisis in their country, because of the Nicolás Maduro regime.
According to estimates by the United Nations, more than four million people have fled Venezuela as refugees, a complex humanitarian emergency unprecedented in the region.
